Rebecca Thompson is the founder and director of Thompson Heritage Consultancy, unlocking the beauty and potential of our world heritage. Previously Superintendent of Works for the Chapter of York, directing the York Minster Works Department team and the maintenance, restoration and conservation of York Minster and the precinct properties.
Rebecca is a Fellow and Past President of the Chartered Institute of Building and Member of the Institute for Historic Building Conservation. Rebecca was a part time lecturer at York College, leading modules in the Technology of Complex Buildings, Health and Safety and measurement. Rebecca has led a number of Heritage conferences in the UK and China.
Thompson Heritage provide leadership and project management for historic buildings. Rebecca is a member of SPAB; Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings, ASCHB; Association for Studies in the Conservation of Historic Buildings and YCCC; York Consortium for Crafts and Conservation and York Civic Trust.
Rebecca Works to the conservation professional practice principles set out in BS7913:2013, Guide to the Conservation of Historic Buildings and has a keen interest and knowledge of English Cathedrals.
